RHI & The Institute for Knowledge Translation
Research indicates that traditional methods of providing education, such as in-person and online continuing education courses, may improve knowledge and skill but they do very little to change the care provided in clinical practice. Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) has partnered with the Institute for Knowledge Translation (iKT) to provide an innovative and evidence-based solution to maximize the impact of education and training. We offer a variety of evidence-based knowledge translation programs, from comprehensive hybrid approaches that include online and in-person training to online-only courses that include mentoring opportunities. Offerings include:
- Multi-component educational programs that include online learning, online mentoring, in-person training, tools and resources for your clinic, and a community practice
- Online-only programs with online mentoring
- Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Curriculum
This is a two-day, 16-hour course on advanced Dry Needling in clinical practice for a wide variety of impairments. Instead of focusing on how to needle certain structures, we explore various needling methodologies to treat certain conditions, such as post knee replacement, rotator cuff repair, palsies, and more. Advanced physiology and how to specifically target and regulate the autonomic nervous system is covered at length. This course expands on a practitioner's ability to conceptualize and combine a variety of dry needling methods and though processes to improve overall safety, efficacy and patient outcome.
Students are not required to take DN1 or DN2 in order to take DN 3. We just ask that people have some type of prior needling experience, from anywhere, to take DN 3. You can combine CEU's from multiple companies, no worries.
