Patient Rooms
Patients staying at the facility enjoy large rooms that do not restrict wheelchair mobility. They feature large bathrooms with customized showers and sinks built especially for rehabilitation patients. Hallways and doors are wide, and nursing stations are built at wheelchair height.
Transitional Living Unit
The Eagle Highlands facility features a Transitional Living Unit (TLU) within the hospital to help you and your caregivers practice independent living prior to making the transition home. The unit has a furnished apartment-style living area that allows patients to practice being at home while professional help is readily available. Patients and caregivers will test their skills and build confidence in their abilities while discovering areas for continued improvement.
Research-Backed Brain Injury Unit
In July 2022, we opened our brand-new, research-backed Brain Injury Unit. The unit includes 16 private rooms with in-room family space, a family retreat space, and private therapy rooms. On the unit, you will find cool colors and pictures, as well as natural light, that help decrease agitation and encourage a relaxing and calm atmosphere. This is essential to brain injury patients because sleep is very important in the recovery process. So much so, that blinds, trash and linen are accessible from outside the room to allow staff to ensure a safe and healthy environment, while also avoiding disturbing patients. To help ensure we are providing cutting-edge evidence-based practice the new unit is home to our research team, allowing them to interact with patients directly on a day-to-day basis.
