Standard Charges

Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is committed to helping patients understand their estimated out-of-pocket costs to support patients in making informed decisions about their care. As part of our commitment to health care price transparency, RHI has provided a search tool for patients to estimate their out-of-pocket costs for over 150 common medical services. Patients may also request a price estimate from RHI’s Patients Financial Services (PFS) department by calling (317) 329-2325 or emailing virginia.pittman@rhin.com.

RHI also provides a comprehensive, machine readable file of Standard Charges in compliance with federal regulation. Please note that the file beneficial to data analysts and developers. If you require help understanding the data, please contact our PFS department by calling (317) 329-2325 or emailing virginia.pittman@rhin.com.

The Standard Charges file is large, and an application designed to handle large data files is recommended to access this information.

Shoppable Services Tool

As part of our dedication to helping our patients make informed choices about the care they receive, RHI provides an easy-to-search list of the most common services we provide. This tool is designed as a guide for patients and their families to help plan for the costs of healthcare services and help you better understand your out-of-pocket costs. Note: this is a cost estimation only. Actual costs will be subject to each patient's individual plan of care.

Instructions for Search: (Supported browsers: Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox)

  1. Make sure to click on a cell within the document. This will ensure that you are searching within the list of services provided.
  2. To search the document:
    1. For Windows PC users, you must hit the “Ctrl” and “F” keys simultaneously to bring up the search bar.
    2. For Mac users, you will need to hit the “Command (⌘)” and “F” keys at the same time to bring up the search bar.
  3. After pressing both keys simultaneously, you will see a box labeled “Find and Replace”. Please type what you want to search for. After typing, you have two options on how you wish to view your results: “Find Next” and “Find All”. The “Find Next” option will allow you see each result individually and move on to the next, while the “Find All” option will bring up a list of results and allow you to see all the results available. How you decide to view the results is completely up to you and how you wish to view them.
  4. To navigate the results, we recommend you use your cursor to move the search box to a location where you are able to see the list and your highlighted results.
  5. Once you find the result you are searching for, you will have the ability to scroll left or right to view the Gross Charge Amount, description of the service, billing code, payor-specific negotiated charge, and other information.
