INDIANAPOLIS, IN, July 9th, 2024 – Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Norma Unser as the new Director of Philanthropy. Unser brings a wealth of experience and a remarkable background as a business owner, lobbyist, activist, and nonprofit leader.

Unser joins RHI from CCubed (Covid Cancer & Company), where she served as President and spearheaded numerous successful fundraising initiatives. With a background in donor engagement and veteran initiatives, Unser has demonstrated a commitment to fostering impactful relationships and driving philanthropic growth.

“We are thrilled to have Norma on the team to support RHI Foundation success for our patients, families, and team members,” said Monte Spence, RHI CEO. “She has a deep understanding of our mission and values, and her innovative approach will be instrumental in advancing our philanthropic growth.”

In her new role, Unser will direct the foundation’s fundraising initiatives, working closely with RHI leadership, the Board of Director, and other key stakeholders to identify, solicit, and steward major gift donors.

“I am honored to join RHI and contribute to its important work,” said Unser. “I look forward to collaborating with our partners in the community and our supporters to further our missions and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.”

The Unser name may sound familiar to Hoosiers that enjoy IndyCar racing, as Norma is married to 2-time Indianapolis 500 Winner, Al Unser Jr. The couple met through a nonprofit funding young drivers trying to get to the next level in racing. During their time with the foundation Norma served as the Executive Director and Al as the Driver Coach.
